Depart from your hotel around 8AM. Drive to Wongaya Gede village, Tabanan where you will experience the perfect trekking. On the way, you will be enchanted by wonderful view of rice terrace. Make a stop at Mengesta 1 Elementary School where you can interact with kids. Then continue drive to Wongaya Gede Village. Once you arrive at Wongaya Gede village, you will be welcomed by Baleganjur. Baleganjur is a group of people who play Gambelan while walking. The word Baleganjur is from Bale and Ganjur where Bale itself means troops then Ganjur means walk. Start trek down the village pass Balinese house in chill and fresh air. After 3 minutes walking, you will start walk in the rice field. Keep trekking the ups and downs beautiful rice field’s path and you will surround by magnificent rice terraces. But don’t forget to watch your step and wear comfortable shoes since the path will be slippery after the rain or morning dew. Tracing the path and interact with locals who is still working at the rice field. After 1 hour trek, cross the bamboo bridge and trek up the finish point which located at the top of the hill. You can enjoy rice field panorama with metekap activity (plow over using two cows) by local farmers.
On the finish point, enjoy the traditional snack and having lunch with the view of glorious rice terrace surround by 5 mountains as the background. After lunch, make and prepare an offering which you will bring on the next activity. After the offering ready, take a bath and change into clean clothes and wear a sarong to visit Batukaru Temple. Passing through the countryside and you will be picked up then drive to Batukaru Temple for a blessing by the priest. Batukaru temple, referred to by locals as Pura Luhur Batukaru, is one of Bali’s key temples, located at the foot of Mount Batukaru. At an altitude of 2,270m above sea level on the second highest peak in Bali after Mount Agung, the temple is surrounded by cool natural forest. After the blessing ceremony by the priest, drive down to the village to enjoy dinner served in the Dulang, a carved or painted pedestal plate at local house. Your dinner also will be entertained by Joged Bumbung Dance by the locals. Joged Bumbung dance is traditional social dance used to performed in social event such as wedding. The dancer is woman and will ask one of the audiences to dance with her. After dinner, return to your hotel.
