Itinerary
MAKASAR - BIRA
Upon arrival at Hasanudin International airport of Makassar (Ujung Pandang), our guide will meet you and direct drive for Makasar city tour to visit Fort Rotterdam, and local market. Early lunch at a local restaurant. Then drive down to Bira beach via Goa, Takalar, Jeneponto, Bantaen and Bulukumba. Late afternoon arrive in Bira. Several stops will be made enroute according to local happenings. Accommodation and dinner will be at your hotel -Bira. (L,D
BIRA - BONE
Breakfast at hotel. In the morning discover Bira and Tana Beru to see local people – the expert of building their penishi – boat. You are free to take pictures and interview the local people how they build those boat all by hand. Then continue to discover the rest of South Sulawesi, depart to Bone via Bulukumba, cross the Bawa Karaeng Mountain to Tanete – Sinjai. Lunch will be served at local simple restaurant. Accommodation at hotel in Bone.
BONE - TORAJA
Breakfast at hotel. Soon after breakfast leave your hotel to drive north to Watampone, Soppeng, Rappang and Enrekang. Stop at a local restaurant for lunch. Continue drive to Tana Toraja. Accommodation and meals at hotel or local restaurant.
TANA TORAJA
Breakfast at hotel. Fullday excursion in Tana Toraja includes visits Lemo where you will find rows of tau-tau and the hanging graves. Onto Londa to see an ancient natural grave where the deceased are entombed with big ceremonies. Proceed to Kete Kesu - a traditional Torajan village where can see the Tongkonan and the old rice-barns and it is famous for its woodcarving. Lunch will be served in Rantepao. Afternoon return to hotel. (B,L,D)
TANA TORAJA
Breakfast at hotel. Fullday explore Tana Toraja to visit Pallawa, Sa'dan - the weaving center. Onto Marante and Naggala - a traditional Torajan village known for its large Tongkonan and 14 rice barns. Lunch will be served in Rantepao. Then continue to Batutumonga and Lokomata for village and breath taking view of the part of Tana Toraja includes Rantepao, the rice fields, tombs, traditional houses and its people. Late afternoon return to hotel via different route. (B,L,D)
TANA TORAJA - PAREPARE - MAROS - AIRPORT
Breakfast at hotel. Drive Pare-pare where lunch will be served. Arrival at the airport in time to catch your flight for your next destination. (B,L)
