Jakarta - Indonesia Capital City
In
this city, Indonesia proclaimed its independence on 17
August 1945. Jakarta which was called Sunda Kelapa, then
Jayakarta the Nation's capital, dates its founding back
to 1527, its name was later changed to Batavia under the
Dutch.
The National Monument or "Monas"
as it's popularly called, is a 137-meters tall obelisk
topped with a flame coated with 35 kg’s gold which
symbolizes Indonesians efforts in the proclamation of
independence in August 1945.
Beside the monument, there are many interesting
places including outstanding museums, "Beautiful
Indonesia in Miniature Park" (Taman Mini Indonesia
Indah), and Jaya Ancol Dream land.

F-JAKARTA/01. JAKARTA CITY TOUR
(3 hours)
Morning tour which visits the National Monument (and
passes in front of Presidential Palace, Istiqlal Mosque
and Cathedral Catholic Church). Then, proceed to the
old port of Sunda Kelapa, passing "Kota"
- the part of the old city - as well as China Town.
If the time permits you may stop at the famous outdoor
antiques Market in Jalan Surabaya. |

F-JAKARTA/02. TAMAN MINI TOUR
(4 hours)
Half day tour to the South East of Jakarta to visit
Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (Indonesia in Miniature
Park) to observe the 160 Ha theme park, complete with
orchid gardens, Bird park, and 27 traditional houses
representing each Indonesian province (now we have
33 provinces, but still ONLY 27 traditional houses
available), where handicrafts are exhibited. |

GARDEN TOUR (6 hours)
See the beautiful town of Bogor located at the site
one of the world's most outstanding botanical gardens.
The Bogor botanical garden hosts more than 15,000
species of trees and plants and over 5,000 species
of tropical orchids. The tour also visits Sukarna
Gong House Factory, which still features traditional
manufacturing techniques. |
