DAY 01: BALIKPAPAN - LOAJANAN - MAHAKAM
Upon
arrival at Sepinggan Airport (Balikpapan), head directly to
a local restaurant for lunch. Then drive to Loa Janan, a village
which is located 110 km’s to the North. At the pier of
this village you board on a House Boat which will act as a Floating
Hotel and depart for "Dayak Land".(L,D)
DAY 02: MAHAKAM - TANJUNG ISSUY
After stopping at Muara Muntai to obtain a travel permit, continue
on to fishing villages of Jantur, Tanjung Jone, Tanjung Hour,
arrive at Tanjung Issuy one of the Dayak village in the afternoon.
Upon arrival your group will be welcomed with a traditional
ceremony led by the village chief and his people. In the evening,
attend a Dayak culture performance in the village. Overnight
and meals in the village Long House. (B,L,D)
DAY 03: TANJUNG ISSUY - MANCONG - MAHAKAM
In the morning an opportunity will be given to explore the village
and to get to know the Dayak people, their beliefs, art, handicrafts,
and customs. If water condition permits, continue to Mancong
village in the hinterland using a canoe called Ketinting, then
return to Lake Jempang and board your House Boat for cruise
up the Mahakam river.(B,L,D)
DAY 04: MAHAKAM - MELAK - KERSIKLUWAI
Breakfast on board. Drive by truck or Toyota pick-up to the
Kersikluwai Nature Reserve - a forest of 50,000 Ha with numerous
varieties of orchids, including the rare Colony Pandurata (Black
Orchid). Then drive to Melak and cruise down the Mahakam River.

DAY 05: MAHAKAM - TENGGARONG - BALIKPAPAN
Cruise down the river, a stop will be made at Tenggarong to
observe the Sultan's Collection in the museum (closed on Monday).
You arrive at Balikpapan late in the afternoon and proceed directly
to your hotel for accommodations and meals. (B,L,D)
DAY 06: BALIKPAPAN - OUT
Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to the Airport for your flight
to your next destination. (B)
